Replacing Front Droplinks Instructions
What you need:
Socket Set & Extension Bar
14mm & 15mm Spanners
Torque Wrench
Trolley Jack & Axle stands
Angle Grinder or Hack Saw maybe required!
New Droplinks
What To Do:
- Jack up the front of the car and safely secure on axle stands and remove both front wheels
- The Droplink is located behind the suspension strut and is held in place with two 14mm nuts
- Using a 14mm spanner between the balljoint and the mounting point to stop the joint turning round and a 14mm socket on the nut you should be able to undo the nut, you may find that over time that nut will have become corroded & rusted solid, so a hacksaw or angle grinder may be required to remove the nuts
- Once the nuts are off the droplink can be removed and binned
- Fitting a new droplink is a straight forward reverse of removal, if Camskill upgraded droplinks are used a 15mm Spanner and socket will be required
- Finally fully tighten the nuts up with a torque wrench to a setting of 39Nm
